This Add-On requires RP Core.

Information
With this job system, you can give player the opportunity to have a profession. And with more extensions, unleash the full power of jobs. Just place an Employment brick and they can choose what they want to do. And you can add your own job if you'd like to.
When you got enough experience and are lucky, you might get promoted, if there is a promotion available.

Tip: If you add more extensions from RP Content, you will get more jobs

Known bug
When you try to get a job it says "Invalid Command". This might be your computer, or an another add-ons fault. Don't blame me or my mod.

To Scripters
Go to /config/server/RP_Core/prefs/jobs.cs and edit it to modify jobs. If you made something wrong, then delete the file and it will be recreated when starting the server.
If you want to make your own job file, then remember to change the version on top of the file to something high, preventing the file to be overwritten when a new version is released.

Yes, you can add jobs. Just go to config/server/RP_Core/prefs/jobs.dat and try to understand the simply system that is there.

Just download RP Core, activate it with RP Jobs, and it's done. Also place an Employment brick so people can get off their default job.

This add-on adds the jobs to RP Core. To edit or add more, just go to /config/server/RP_Core/data/jobs.dat and find out how it works.

There's two ways.
1. Download RP Time, so you will get one each minute.
2. Make your own mod that you define how you get exp.

When RP Crime is done, you will get exp on stealing, pickpocketing, bankrobbing and jailing.

Ohai can't some jobs come with items? For example:the miner job should come with a default item- the pick axe.

I just discovered that the job items didn't work as expected. I am doing a fix now, and will update as soon as possible.

The less extensions you have, the less jobs you get. Also, some of the jobs are invisible due they are only rechable through promotion.

How do you get a promotion? Is it time-based, random, work-based, money-based, what?

I believe that you need RP Time so it can "tick" the time for you, and that way gain money and promotions... Promotions can be gained when you have enough experience for the job, and a little bit of luck...

I have a al RP things I could download from you and when I spawn I don't get my hammer etc even not when I suicide after that. Then when I de-activate your RP CORE and other stuff I get hammer again. :S

Everyone that spawn the first time will be a Tourist, that have no equipment due that they wont need it. I suggest that you choose an another job right after you spawn in the Employment Office.

Every time I make a new job I give it a new name, ID and everything, and it doesn't even show up. I had to re-download this 3 times and try to make more jobs but it never worked. Whats up with that?

EDIT: Oh, ok. I guess I didn't study/look at the other jobs enough to realize that. :3

Before I try editing jobs and fuck it over royally, what do I need to know about the groups, and what's the difference between the "Tools" and "Items."

The group parameter is an ID for each group, and it is also the HEX color that will be displayed with the job name.

The difference between tools and items, is that tools is what default equipment a player will have each time it spawn after being dead, and item is a thing I will implement later.

To edit/add/delete a job, go to "config/server/RP_Core/prefs/jobs.dat" and understand how it is built up, and then do your changes. Please do not remove required mod for those that is already set. Their specialties wont work anyway without the mod.

And about the spawn, the jobs listed as standard is there so you can get them. The other ones are hidden, and only available through promotions.

It was a bug in the event that will be fixed next update. Then it is only to do an event:
onActivate -> self -> ifJob
onRPTrue -> self -> doorOpen

Problem: I don't have any tools no matter what the job is. Even after I re-DL'ed this it still did that.

Whenever I type in the name of the job it says "invalid command" I know I am typing it correctly, as I have tried several times with the same problem. I have DL and Re-DL this several times and still the same problem. Any suggestions?

A lot of people have complained about this. You have some add-on that interferes with what you talks, meaning that it will somehow replace something in what you write, and therefor it breaks it.

Ok, I got my admin job to work, but now I can't get it to be for just admin. How do I do that?

You did it wrong. You shouldn't touched the jobs.dat file to unlock the Admin job. Instead, you should touch your [bl_id].sav file and change your jobs to the ID of the Admin job.

The RP needs to be started first... Oh cheese, I knew that I forgot some info... :o

Edit: I've updated the information on RP core now, but I can tell that you need to say the command /StartRP to actually start everything. Else it's an ordinary brick.

Mctwist, you need a boolean allowing you to choose whether the job can use events, and spawn items. That would make shops possible, that way you can't just spawn items if you are not a shop owner.

This was in RP Money, but whatever. I've added my own system when it comes to payment for items, due of how the shop system works. Also I packaged the most common events that have anything to do with items.

1. Open brick menu.
2. Go to RP Admin tab. (If it's not there, then click the outer right tab and then the "Tab" button)
3. Get Employment Office brick.
4. Plant it.
4b. Start RP with /StartRP the RP is not active.
5. Click it.
6. Follow instructions.

You have to start the RP to get jobs, first of all.
Second of all, you have to spawn a job brick to get a job. (Activate the brick)
There, that is how you get a freckin job.

@lego-fox - Why would you? Just go to config/server/RP_Core/prefs and edit jobs.dat there.

@King - Wait and see. Also have enough exp for it. You can check the Employment Office for the job you would like to be promoted to how much exp is required.

Crash is either your computer, or an add-on causing this. I cannot help you on that part.

And being a miner you should get a promotion to Laborer. I've had problems with percentage with latest mods, so I got to check them through sometimes, try to fix them. When I can't tell, because I'm a busy man.

I had a noob come to my server and stool all my money! Problem is I couldn't figure out how to put him in jail. I changed to a Jail guard but it didn't work. I wanted to promote myself but I didn't know how! Could you tell me? "I have enough xp"

You have to be promoted from Jail Guard to an another job above that so you can jail somebody. Or you be admin and spawn a Baton.

It is an unique ID for that job. Due I don't wanna spend so much time on that feature, I couldn't do it an another way without spending more than 2 days on it. The ID's is in the job.dat file in the folder: config/server/RP_Core

Try re-download RP Core.

Then you have a corrupt file. Try resetting the RP by going to config/server/ and delete RP_Core folder.

First, the doublebackslash ("//") is for your personal comments. It can contain anything as long as it stays on the same line as the slashes.
Secondly, you should read documentary for more information on how to use it.
Finally, change "booleam" to "boolean". Best way to figure something out is trial'n'error.

Choosing a job with the employement brick is actually quite easy. Click it, if it doesnt say anything say /startrp and try again. If it does say something say 3 and say a job name
