Adjustable Plate



The title best describes the functionality of this map, it is another Plate edit which you are able to adjust to your own satisfaction in-game via a settings manager window. Changes are made instantly to the map with just a click, without requiring to restart the map or game. The manager is user-friendly and comes with a large variety of options to choose from.

Settings that you are able to change:
1. Sky texture and color
2. Visibility distance, fog distance and fog color
3. Sun light color, and brightness
4. Plate color
5. Water
6. Precipitation

You are also able to save the settings you have changed for future use. The map settings can only be changed by the server host, so you don't have to worry about changes being made while you are away or not in the server.

Special thanks to BAC for creating the original Plate map.

Commands:
Type /mapSettings into the chat while on the map to open the settings manager, you can also bind a key for this command.

1. If you discover a bug, please post information on it so that it can be fixed as soon as possible.

Did you even bother reading the message which pops up after you download the map from the mod-manager? No, you haven't. That message that you thought was unimportant and dismissed without bothering to read would have actually given you advice on how to get the mod working correctly for you.

Impossible. Blockland Add-Ons cannot mess with anything other than the part of the game which is written in TorqueScript. OpenAL (Open Audio Library) can definitely not be modified using TorqueScript.

The only feature which touches audio in my map is the ambient sound effect.
... The feature uses the same method that MUSIC BRICKS use to play audio... Do they mess anything up? No, so why should my mod?

I don't see any possibility whatsoever of this happening. Since you seem to insist that my mod magically messes with OpenAL, can you please provide me a more detailed explanation as to why you think it does?

I started up my server, and wanted to see all the custimizations. I set the ambiance to Snow. i wanted to hear the changes, so i flipped to my Itunes window and muted the sound to hear. Next thing i know, i see a Window pop up in the top right corner... I crashed. I'm on mac, and alot of add-ons don't like macs, so this could be the problem

I remmber when I started my server I change it alot and it crashed me out the game not the server so if this is your promblem it mabe be your computer it cant take that much to load up or you did to much of it I think it both with me

I find this as a very useful add-on. The ability to change the skybox, sun height, and all is very interesting and I enjoy being creative with all the options.

Add so you can make a hotkey, or maybe make a new button in the admin gui for your gui.
And, in the Save/load section.. add a picture that shows how your saves look like... would be awesome.

Use Mission Editor! It works very well and most of the stuff you want is incredibly simple to use. I hear it works best on a map so-called 'Flatlands' but I can't find it. I'm 99% sure it works fine on ANY map! I suggest it strongly!

Crashing by turning on Ambient Sound is caused by a bug in the game itself, there is nothing I can do to fix it. Badspot should hopefully tackle the problem in the near future.

The bug can be fixed by removing the sound option, and adding it again later when the bug is gone.
Just keep a backup just in case.

When I choose adjustable plate and start a game, my blockland crashes (like it doesn't even load and it crashes). Plz tell me if I do something wrong or suggest me something! I really want to go on that map!

Try deleting adjustablePlate.cs which is located in your Blockland\config\server folder and then launch Blockland and run the map.

Do not add ambient sound to the map as that is probably what is causing the crashing.
