Grapple Rope

The classic Grapple Rope is back. Now better than ever. Original code made by Qwertyuiopas then modified by SolarFlare. I cleaned up the code a bit, fine-tuned the colors and particles and fixed a few simple problems. If you want a more detailed changelog check the Tool_GrappleRope.cs.

It is sad how many people fail the grasp the concept of swinging which is essential if you wish to do anything with this most excellent tool. This is not Hookshot. You do not point and click to be transported to the location. You need momentum. Think Tarzan. Think Spiderman. Swing. If you understand the physics of swinging and momentum this tool will provide you with hours of fun.

Could use a better model, and this is more like a hookshot, a grapple rope would be throwing it up, not shooting it out.

This is a nice add-on now it just needs a new model. Like a gun like object with a three pronged hook on the end.

I might be making a model for this later. Sadly the closest designs I've though up so far are pretty much identical to Hookshot.

Here's an idea for a custom model:

A bow and arrow. The rope is attached to the arrow. You shoot the arrow at something, it sticks, and you can swing. Another cool feature would be if there were certain bricks that you couldn't swing from, making effective traps. Also, the bow would be on your back while you swing. When you let go, you get the bow again.

Or you could use like a lasso. But I do like the Bow and Arrow too.

Anyways, this is fun to mess around with. I have used this before too and It was fun.

Can you make an RTB pref so you can check off it grappling anywhere and some kind of event that allows it to be grappled to?

Trigun uses these wonderful set of events for all his mods "preferences"
so example for his dueling mod
Preferences > dueling > whatever

Perhaps you could contact Trigun and use the same kind of events?
Preferences > Grapple Rope > [ ] (check box, checked means grappleable, unchecked means ungrappleable)

Out of every add-on ever made, this is my all-time ultimate favorite. It's great, because it require skill and percision.
I've already had this for a while, because I downloaded it from your website and modded it to my needs, but it's still great just how it is. Again, I love this Blockland addition. This is default add-on worthy.

Much better than the original.

I've got a couple of suggestions, though:

1. Possibly add an alt fire that extends the rope's maximum length by about 4 or 5
2. Add a way of connecting to movable objects (such as vehicles or players/bots) that will move you along with it if you are at the rope's max length

I'm not sure the second one is very easy or if it would cause console spam. But I know it is possible, because I heard the one Wicked had in his server worked on stunt planes.

While it is rather fun to swing with this tool, I can't help but think something is missing without the actual "Grapple" function. However, this is not, as you said, what it is intended to be used for. If you use it as intended, it is endlessly fun.

Pretty good so far, but theres a glitch, when I go to the grapple knife server the grapple line went down not to the platform and fell to my death 3.1/5 (need to fix ya grapple to V2)
