GameMode Unlimited Mining
Required Add-ons's:
- Tool_RPG
- Event_SetPlayerTransform
This is a mod to Kalphiter's origional Infinite mining mod. Without his efforts none of this would be possible.
Basic startup
=============
Launch blockland
Choose the game mode 'Unlimited Mining'
Start the game (RTB is optional)
enter: /startdig
All players spawn with a pickaxe and a gun. Use the pick to mine stuff. Use the gun to kill cement blocks and to defend your mine
Basic Commands
==============
- use: /startdig to start the mod
- use: /stopdig to stop mining
- mine ore to get money
- use: /upgradepick to upgrade your pickaxe
- use: /buylight to buy a light
These are unchanged from Kalphiter's origional mod
Commands - picks
========
/upgradeall - upgrades your pick up to 1,000 levels, or until you run out of money - whichever comes first
/upgradejob - starts a "job" on the server to upgrade your pick. There are no level limits, it runs until you run out of money, or cancel it with /cancelupgrade

Its not lava when its underground, its magma so please replace that...
I saw another typo... somewhere hold on.
There is another typo, Its that your heat suit breaks alot, and you die when you have a heat suit on while mining lava sometimes
That's not a typo, it's a glitch smart one.
Anyways, I think it's supposed to do that. I mean, you can survive in lava.
good catch. I'll fix the picaxe typeo in the next release
for the lava/magma - you can edit config/server/miningData.cs and change the ore names to anything you want. HOWEVER if you change "lava" to something else, it wont work right anymore. Theres comments in the source code to that effect.

Kalphiter made the origional. Without his work none of this would be here. Yes he did get credit - count 6 lines down from the top of my description and read.

I got those problems too, the fourth one is normal (after you startdig, stopdig and startdig again) because the spawn area is too close to the ground.
It was fine untill I got the v15 update for blockland, then it lost all collision
I don't know how to fix it
fixes the problem where you fall through the floor after updating to v15
It was actually an original mod from V8 by Chuck Norris. He released it in a pack that included auto-admin for any server, the Destructo-Wand add-on that any non-admins could use, and his own custom version of Blockland; Chuckland.

I also found a bug that might not be so great, and yeah, red guy it WAS me who crashed your server, if your wondering how, it was because i mined down to -10,000. twice the distance down, past the core. and yeah, it did cost me like 600,
/editore to add ores
I do not and have never granted permission.
- somebody found and reported the -10k bug. and its "fixed" in the same way as the bug where you go too high. I just added a hard limit of -9500
As for the ore editor gui "glitch" The worst it does is to print an error on the host. That will be fixed with the next version where I plan to revamp how it stores the Ore information and let people customize things a lot more -- namely adding FX that doesnt require adding edits to the mod.
if you dont have that, things wont work right
it also gets rid of some console errors when you do /startdig.
For those of you with custom ores: The ore format has changed
you will need to fix your ores using the ore editor. Open the editor, Fix the colors, and the value of each of your custom ores. You will also need to -remove- the standard ores from your miningData.cs file, or they will be messed up as well.
How?
min/max percent is the % chance for the ore to be found. The mod picks a # between 1-100 and then looks through the list of ores to see if there are any matches. If theres no matches, then you get dirt.

if you make max% less than 1, its guaranteed the ore will never be found.
a 10% spread in the range means the ore will show up a LOT.. mabye more common than regular dirt.
but if you have 10 ores, each with a 10% range spread and nothing is overlapping, then you have covered the whole range of the random number generator. Since there are other ores + Dirt & Lava your going to have some overlaps, and those ores that are overlapped will show up less, even though all have an equal chance of being picked.
I really want the dormant bomb and drills.
I've already deleted and re-d/ld your mining mod because i broke it through attempting to modify it to have dormant bombs and drills.
Updates for drills and such will be comming eventually. I need to make sure the drills arent the source of my constant crashing problems.
also - how many dirt blocks have you mined? v7 had a bug where the first layer didnt count as dirt. The next version fixes that.
@Burby - make sure you have the colorset installed.
I am clueless on what to do.
All players start with the blue hammer. Admins also get a wrench -- so that part is working fine. If you fall through the floor then you need to get the latest version of everything.
v8 of the mod. v3.4 of RTB and v16 of blockland. And make sure you are starting on the Slate map.

@syd - wrench is for admin only. use it for whatever you want, or just ignore it. it has no special functions in the mod.
@dorkdotdan - make sure you have downloaded the colorset and have it activated
@cj915 - read the instructions.txt included with the mod it explains how to create ores
@Yonigavish - the falling through the floor problem happened when blockland v15 came out, and it was fixed
@Blocklandfan - trueno's colorset was the one I had active when I wrote the mod, so thats what it uses.
@Panda - what do you mean by that?
@DarkLight - what happens when you try? Any console errors? .. just saying "nothing" or "it doesnt work" isnt helpful.
@Brandon - how are you creating the new ore? Ore editor? or editing miningData.cs? Also check your console for error messages.
@goodman - there are no events in the mod. its 100% scripting.
@legomaster - theres instructions included in the mod. It has a file called instructions.txt -- read it. If you have questions on whats in there, let me know.
Just say /startdig and it will start.
If you still get the too many active drills error, then somehow you managed to saved the # of drills that was running in a previous game.
@slave - miningData.cs is in Blockland\config\server\MiningData.cs
you need to do /startdig and /stopdig at least once to get the file to show up

@goodman - not sure what you mean "player discovery" but players discovering new ores is on by default, its just very rare. every time you mine a dirt/rock block with your pick, there is a 1 in 1,000 chance you will discover a new ore. Buying dirt, using bombs or drills does not count.
@frogger3140 - theres only around 6 databloc
The other day, your server reset after the brick count went over. I was the first to come back, only to find that as my GUI appeared after mining the first dirt, I had lost exactly 400 pick levels.
Meaning, my pick level was 410 before the reset, and now it was 10.
It may be because I used the /ihavereadtherules [number], but i've used that in the past, no problem.
I'm mostly saying that not only would I like my levels back, but that I've talked to others who've had similar problems.

Three suggestions, one to be able to set Health and Value as seperate items.
The other is an actual Unlimited Mining map. Why? Because i had made a special thing, with mining missions, but it just wont save. This might not work, though, but it may be better if you added a Host-Only command called
/saveminingmap <Name>
The final is also editore. The ability to add FX, and maybe even emitters or lights.

When I start mining, behind the ore there is a hole out of the spawn room. I tried restarting the server, but it won't work. Can you fix that?

If your dirt (bricks) dont appear, try deleting config/server/MiningData.cs

I reset, and I have a wrench and the pickaxe, but still no dirt. Anyone else having this problem?
check that you have the all the addons downloaded and activated.
delete config/server/MiningData.cs (if you cant find it -- dont worry)
start a normal game, and see if the you can create the RPG pick item -- if you cant. fix the conflicts.
Check your console for any errors BEFORE doing /startdig-- if you see any fix them, or disable the addon.

The only difference between a normal and admin drill is an admin drill has no limits.

on your first problem, You should of had it enabled. And for the second, enable trueno's colorset before running a unlimited mining server.

When i make a new ore and save then stop mining game, and start it again my ore is gone and i have to make it again this only work if someone finds a ore, but i want to make my own and save it 4 ever but it wont work...... can some1 please help me?
i type /startdig and type /enddig or /startdig again but it doesent change
Just say, /drill and it will cancel your dig.
(btw we reseted our stats so we are kinda stuck)
i type /drill but all it does is either comes up with the shop or nothing
check your console for errors, and make sure you followed the instructions posted above, and included inside the zip file (instructions.txt)
