General Client Enhancement

I'm going to be rewriting this article to better inform people why it is worthwhile to have this add-on widespread. (soon)
Due to the nature of this add-on, I figured I'd write this in a 'Q and A' format...
Q: Then what is the point?
A: It basically allows the server to make the client change how players see things.
Q: Change what exactly?
A: Currently, it allows for tempoary fov adjustment and color splashes. And as of update three, disposable guis. And now, server keybinds!
Q: Color splahes?
A: It makes the playing area part of the screen (ingame) a solid color (transparency possible too though) for a bit.
Q: What colors?
A: There are nine colors, one for each torque colorcode.
Q: Yes but what colors?
A: Red, blue, yellow, green, aqua, white, gray, black, and pink.
Q: Isn't that abusable?
A: The functionality already exists in whiteout and setdamageflash functions.
Q: But people can still abuse this?
A: All this means is that they can do it in differnet colors than before. (max splash time is 20secs)
Q: So what's fov changing?
A: Basically it forces you to zoom in or out a bit for a short period of time. (min 50 max 160, max duration 10secs)
Q: What's the point of that?
A: Not much, but it has been requests, so there's not reason not to include it.
Q: If people don't have this add-on and the server wants to colorsplash someone, what happens?
A: They are not effected at all.
Q: What are disposable guis?
A: The server uses clientcmds to make a little gui, which it can then force open. They are deleted from the client upon disconnecting.
Q: Then how do I make sure people have the addon.
A: The addon will trigger the syjacksec and syjackrtb clientcmd's allowing servers to check who has it and who does not.
Q: Are there any server scripts for it yet?
A: Not released ones, though I've made some intresting things, and anyone else can too.
Q: How do these key binds work?
A: Say you disliked having to use the "light" key to reload your weapon... Now a weapon pack maker can include support for this mod, and users of this mod on a server with that, will be able to bind a separate key to reload, than light. And that's just one example!
Q: Why the odd name for the file?
A: Well, it does and will end doing a range of random things and "client_servercancolorsplashfovsettingandmorestuff" didn't really sound nice enough.
Like mine.
At this rate it will have gotten 1000 downloads by the end of the week.
It's not like it actually required to play on your server, you just kick everyone who doesn't have it simply because they don't have it.
Eventually once many people have the add-on, server owners and mod makers will be able to do many more things to clients.
1. About 200 downloads in a day isn't bad.
2. I don't care about fame, or recognition, I just want to improve the community.
3. You're resoning makes no sense, people aren't going to refuse to download something simply because of a script on my server.
If this mod gets popular, it's good for all of blockland, you see.
here is a quick timeline because some people(you) who dont pay close attention the newsFeed section of the modmanager.
1: He posted to RTB yesterday
2: 200 people downloaded it that day
3: He came up with stats
there. now you are hopefully(probably not) less of an idiot.

All of what you just said is complete and utter bullshit in an attempt to look cool. I haven't checked anything in game so obviously I'm not paying attention to the feed. We're he
I don't know what to say about Xanderians comment or its reply.
But, I will say that I believe I got most of the downloads after update three, so I think there's at least ~150 unique downloads, hopefually today if I can be arsed to host, I can get another 50 to 100.
Ack is an abbreviation for "Acknowlegment".
It let's the client acknowledge that they have the add-on.
Not that it's a big deal, although it would be nice if it was an option rather than a necessity.
lol
